Condition: Cold/Flu •  Wind-Cold
Treatment: Disperse wind cold to relieve the exterior syndrome and promote dispersing action of the Lung Qi.
Description: Severe aversion to cold, mild fever, anhidrosis, headache, soreness and pain of the limbs, nasal obstruction, thin running nose, itching of the throat, cough, hoarse voice, thin and white sputum, no thirst, thin and white coating, superficial and tense pulse.

Point Selection:
BL12 • Feng Men • On the upper back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra (T2).
Wind Gate. Meeting Point on the Bladder Channel with the Governing Vessel.
Explanation: Clear wind cold

GB20 • Feng Chi • At the posterior head, at the junction of the occipital and nuchal regions, in the depression between the origins of Sternocleidomastoid and Trapezius muscles.
Wind Pool. Meeting Point on Gall Bladder Channel with the Triple Energizer Channel, Yang Linking and Yang Motility Vessels.
Explanation: Disperse wind cold when combined with moxa.

GV14 • Daz Hui • Below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra (C7).
Great Hammer. Meeting Point on the Governing Vessel with the six yang channels. Sea of Qi Point.
Explanation: Disperse wind cold when combined with moxa.

LI4 • He Gu • On the dorsum of the hand, approximately at the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone, in the belly of the first interosseus dorsalis muscle.
Contraindication: Do Not Needle If Pregnancy is known or suspected
Union Valley. Yuan Source Point on the Large Intestine Channel. Command Point of the Face and Mouth.
Explanation: Promotes sweating, relieves external wind cold

LU7 • Lie Que • On the radial side of the forearm, 1.5 cun superior to the tip of the radial styloid process.
Broken Sequence. Luo Connecting Point on the Lung Channel to LI4.
Explanation: Disperses wind cold and regulates lung qi.
