Condition: Yu Syndrome •  Kidney Yin Deficiency
Treatment: Nourish the Kidney Yin, soothe the Liver, calm spirit.
Description: Irritability, impatient, hot temper, dizziness, palpitation, nocturnal emission, irregular menstration, soreness and weakness of the loins and knees, red tongue body, wiry, thready and rapid pulse.

Point Selection:
BL15 • Xin Shu • On the upper back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the fifth thoracic vertebra (T5).
Heart Shu. Back Shu of the Heart that connects with Front Mu CV14.
Explanation: Tonify Heart Yin and calm spirit.

BL18 • Gan Shu • On the middle back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the ninth thoracic vertebra (T9).
Liver Shu. Back Shu of the Liver that connects with Front Mu LR14.
Explanation: Tonify Liver Yin, tonify Liver Qi.

BL23 • Shen Shu • On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra (L2).
CautionAvoid the Kidneys.
Kidney Shu. Back Shu of the Kidney that connects with Front Mu GB25.
Explanation: Nourish and tonify Kidney Yin.

HE7 • Shen Men • On the transverse wrist crease, in the small depression between the pisiform and ulna bones.
Spirit Gate. Shu Stream Point on the Heart Channel. Yuan Source Point on the Heart Channel. Earth Point on Fire Meridian.
Explanation: Tonify Heart Yin and calm spirit.

KI3 • Tai Xi • On the medial ankle, at the midpoint between the prominence of the medial malleolus and Achille's Tendon.
Great Ravine. Shu Stream Point on the Kidney Channel. Yuan Source on the Kidney Channel. Earth Point on Water Meridian.
Explanation: Nourish and tonify Kidney Yin.

LR3 • Tai Chong • On the dorsum of the foot, between the first and second metatarsal bones, approximately 2 cun superior to the web margin.
Great Surge. Shu Stream Point on the Liver Channel. Yuan Source Point on the Liver Channel. Earth Point on Wood Meridian.
Explanation: Tonify Liver Yin, tonify Liver Qi.

SP6 • San Yin Jiao • On the medial leg, 3 cun superior to the medial malleolus, on the posterior border of the tibia.
Contraindication: Do Not Needle If Pregnancy is known or suspected.
Three Yin Intersection. Meeting Point on the Spleen Channel with the Liver and Kidney Channels.
Explanation: Nourish and tonify Kidney Yin.
